BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ANTIOXOY / ΘEOY - EΠIΦANOYΣ / NIKHΦOPOY Apollo, wearing chiton, standing right, holding patera in his right hand and kithara in his left. SC 1401. Extremely rare, one of perhaps a dozen known examples. Minor traces of overstriking, otherwise, very fine.

This beautiful and unusual issue was likely struck in connection with the great Panhellenic festival celebrated in the sanctuary of Apollo at Daphne, some 6 km outside of the capital, where Antiochos IV held a large-scale troop parade in 166 BC
